Bookatrekking.com made it easy to enjoy hut-to-hut hiking in the Austrian Alps.

The trail was amazing an easy to follow, made some bookatrekking friends on the way. Offline map was not always accurate and its super nice that they do all the reservation work, it can be a nightmare!

My friend and I used Bookatrekking to secure our accommodations for the TMB, after trying for several weeks to arrange them ourselves without success. Overall we had a positive experience and would recommend Bookatrekking for hikers who want to save themselves the hassle of setting up nightly lodging along their route. We didn't know when we paid for the service that we would also get free access to the Bookatrekking app. Overall, this was a big plus! The app is well-designed, consolidated all lodging info in one convenient place, and provided generally good navigation and info on each day's distance and elevation change. Some details of our itinerary were less than ideal (two very short hiking days in a row, followed by two very long ones in a row, for example) but it seemed everyone on the TMB had to finagle their route here and there to make it work, so this wasn't unique to Bookatrekking! All the days were doable. We wished the app included more information on what to expect for amenities and meals at each hut/refuge (for example, knowing which huts have laundry facilities and which huts serve scant breakfasts would help with planning). I did some in-depth research on Google instead, so we generally knew what to expect at each place, but most of our fellow Bookatrekking travelers did not. The other issue we and others had with the app was the navigation feature. Having nav right on the app was very convenient, but there were multiple (mostly short) sections of the trail where the app's route differed from posted signage. We always followed the app, and sometimes its alternate routes worked out well or seemed like improvements over the marked trail, but other times the app's routes were illogical or inconvenient. If the app is going to diverge from posted signs of a trail as well-marked as the TMB, we felt it should at least offer an explanation so hikers can make an informed choice on which route to follow. Finally, the app's daily route summaries gave us a false sense of security, so to speak, and we wish we had ignored them and relied on our guidebook instead. If Bookatrekking is going to offer these summaries, they should be more detailed. For example, one variant we took, the Fenêtre d'Arpette, was simply described in the app as "challenging but rewarding." It turned out to involve a long section of technical bouldering, which we handled fine, but less experienced/fit trekkers would have been hard pressed to navigate. All in all we had an amazing time on the TMB, Bookatrekking was a reliable service to set up lodging, and their app has a lot of potential but could use more detail!

Communication and planning was good, main problem was their new app is nowhere near the level of komoot or all trails in terms of being able to navigate. Offline can be a bit buggy as well.

The accommodations were each good and we were booked to stay, for dinner and breakfast. The best food was in the last Rifugio Passo Valle closely followed by Rifugio Contrin and Casteglioni. The map and instructions guide in advance were very helpful in planning. When we walked the map unfortunately disappeared at times. The descriptions of the walks were brief and did not reflect the degree of difficulty involved. If written by a walker they probably would have better reflected the route. We enjoyed the walk.

Whilst the booking process was smooth, there was not much willingness to look into other potential dates in order to try and secure more private rooms The pre trip information was comprehensive and included valuable tips. The app was quite slick and well designed

Refugio Huts booked were excellent. no problems at any refugios. Hike routing was well described. Trip description was a bit misleading.

The convenience has to be the best thing about bookatrekking, which is ideal if you have no prior experience of organising your own hut-to-hut trip. Although the price is quite steep compared to booking refuges yourself, the interactive app with information and map is really great. We used booktrekking for the dolomites and would recommend for this area. Others we met on our trip had also used booktrekking for a Kilimanjaro trip and were using them again for the dolomites after a successful trip.

Had a wonderful time hiking the full Alta Via 1 including hotel before and after. Everything was I expected until day 8, the last day, from Rifugio Pramperet. Overnight I was extremely sick and had to take an easier route to Forno di Zoldo instead of the traditional route to the Pissa bus stop. At Forno di Zoldo I met a fellow hiker that stayed that same evening at Rifugio Pramperet and also had to take the easier route, who told me she was sick too. We narrowed it down to the lunch of spaghetti and meat we both had upon arrival. Being extremely weak, totally dehydrated by my overnight ordeal, hiking that day was the most difficult thing I have ever done.

The trek was well organized from mountain cabin to cabin, it was worrieless and there was a great navigation app to follow the route. The signs were well marked along the route but the first trek to Grialetsch hütte we didn't see the signs which were following the navigation so we ended up on a higher route (climbing over rocks etc, a T3 trek). When we arrived at the hütte the manager said that "All Dutch take the T3 route..." so there must be something wrong in the signposting.

We recently used Bookatrekking.com for our hike in the Dolomites. The company offered plenty of choices to trek through these beautiful mountains at a very reasonable cost. We ultimately chose the first half of the classic Alta via 2 route. Overall I think the itinerary was very good. The 6 day trek was just right for me and offered a perfect time to get a taste of hiking through the Dolomites. Last year we did the haute route using the same company and the 12 days of trekking was pushing my limits. I loved the choice of huts along this route. The downloadable itinerary with descriptions of each daily trek with GPS maps were extremely user friendly. I liked staying at the Boe hut rather than the Pisciadu hut (that is in the Cicerone book) was a much better choice. It made for a longer trek but is well worth it. I also enjoyed trekking together with the same people that had booked the same itinerary through their company. Being assigned our meals at the same table each day allowed us to make some true friends along our journey. Finally, I thought your staff was extremely friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and quick to respond to my queries. This has been my second trip using Bookatrekking.com and have already planned my next years trip with them as well.

Very organized. Nice front end and back end accommodations. All huts provided adequate food and water, showers, beds. All very clean. Rosetta hut was least favorite of our group. Bread only for breakfast and upcharge for meat or yougurt. No showers. Also think Via Ferrata gear should ABSOLUTELY be required for this hike. Very dangerous without it. 80 people have already died in Dolomites sine June 21st including a German man right by Mulaz. Think you need to explain to all how difficult this hike is and dangers of exposure. You booked a group of American business men who shadowed us who had never hiked before. They were totally unprepared without the fitness level or skills to do this hike.

It was the hike overall. There was some things that were not ideal with the service - for instance, there is a recommendation to take a paper map, but when I requested suggestions on the map, there was no reply from my email request. Was concerned about navigation, and while the app worked on some phones, it did not work on my phone without wifi particularly for the alternative routes. Having said that, would book again in a heartbeat when I can arrange to get myself to the Alps!

The huts were clean, beds comfortable, and meals were good. I was not happy with the company supporting travels from out of the country. There is no phone number to call and email responses were short, lacked detail and took several days to receive. We experienced heavy rain and snow and there was no information on how to navigate alternate options, routes or services in these cases. I do not feel as though this company provides good support for first timers of this type of experience.

We had an incredible 4-day hiking trip in Triglav National Park!! The routes bookatrekking gave us were the perfect length and the gps navigation software within the app was helpful and reliable. Would book again with bookatrekking.

It was an amazing experience. The hike was beautiful and the huts were cosy. However it would have been nice to have been able to shower. Also to have known that the final stretch to the Triglav was really more climbing than hiking and actually quite dangerous going down. In addition, we were told to follow the red dots, but these lead us off the route almost at the start already.

The app provided by Bookatrekking was useful, until it wasn’t… it took us down an unsafe, vertical segment of the route, which required us to crawl down various ledges with our hands and feet, and coach each other on footholds. This was unnecessary and avoidable by going a different route. At the end of the trek, it indicated the bus stop was in a different location than in reality, which caused us to almost miss the bus. It would have been nice to have known which rifugios do not take credit cards, so that we could more properly plan for bringing cash. We did not have an issue, but others did. Overall we immensely enjoyed our hike and there were no other hitches besides what I described above. It was nice to not have to stress over the rifugio reservation process.

Easy booking and navigation worked well for us. However, the only problem was that the trek Alta Via del Granito - Classic wasn't correctly classified (T2) or at least the description should mention that the hike is technically difficult and not suitable for beginners. I have done TMB, Mt.Toubkal and other technically quite difficult trails but none were as difficult as this one. It wasn't a problem for me, but my companion was on her first hike. The path is mostly exposed, with a real danger of falling, mostly unsteady footing. The 2nd day before the rifugio cima d'asta the ascent was crazy technical and would really benefit from some ropes or chains, as the path was marked on an almost vertical slab and I personally have never experienced a hike where I was that scared to actually fall off the mountain. Again, an experienced hiker can find their way, but way too dangerous not to mention it in the description. Please add it, because the trek is technically challenging for sure.

For instance, the trek ends at a location from which you need to take a cable car (costing €18.5) to reach Chamonix, yet the app stated the trek ends in Chamonix itself. These kinds of inaccuracies can be frustrating in real time—not because of the cost, but due to the surprise factor. Regarding accommodations, there was a lack of consistency in quality. Also, since this is a pre-arranged full trek, I felt that the first and last nights were spent in places that didn't really suit the flow of the hike (on the first day, for example, I only walked two hours before reaching the destination). Overall, I would give the company a score of 8 out of 10. It enables people to complete a very popular trek within a relatively short timeframe. While the service fee isn’t low, it’s a worthwhile outsourcing solution. That said, as I’ve mentioned, there’s still room for better accuracy in route planning and information sharing. We have had an amazing 4 days in the Slovenian mountains. The hikes were good planned and the gps was easy to follow. Unfortunately we found out two days before departure that there was no guide available for us to take us to the summit as we had agreed. Luckily we could book one ourselves in Slovenia. Other than that bookatrekking has been very helpful and good

We had an amazing experience in the beautiful Alps. Process of purchasing was smooth. All the reservations for accommodation worked well, we liked the routes provided. App sometimes was lagging in the mountains; therefore, I have used my personal navigation app. We've got a few e-mails with some basic info about preparation before our trip. Thanks! Beautiful hike through the Menalon Trail in the Peloponnese in Greece. The trails winds through mountains and valleys and is mostly shaded, often running by a stream. Wonderful well marked trail doable in 5 to 8 stages. But the hiking is somewhat rigorous due to long inclines and declines, but mostly due to slippery, loose rock covered trails. It takes a lot longer than you’d think. The Bookatrekking app severely underestimates daily hiking times by at least 50%. That said Bookatrekking did a great job organizing the trek and all went perfectly. Easy to use app too and the navigation tool was much better than other downloadable apps.

My wife and I did the Alta Via 1 from 21 till 28 June. We are both fit and healthy and had prepared well for the trek. Our trek coincided with high temperatures throughout Europe, and they were felt by us on the trek even at high elevations. We really enjoyed the Dolomite experience, and we were able to negotiate the Bookatrekking app to guide us on the trail. We have a few points, however, we would like to address in review: 1. The App and navigation were useful. However, the day-to-day trek descriptions lacked sufficient detail of track conditions and identification of track numbers would have been useful. In some cases, the descriptions are misleading or just wrong. For example, on Day 8 “…as you make the final descent to the La Pissa bus stop, where the Alta Via 1 ends.” The La Pissa bus stop is not where the trek ends but is approximately 500 m to the north on the opposite side of the road. By the way, walking on the busy road verge to the bus stop was one of the most dangerous parts of the whole trek (the bus timetable is also hit and miss). 2. At times the GPS update on the navigation App was slow and positions were prone to jump around. This was particularly tricky at key track intersections, when decisions of the correct direction needed to be made. Location details of potable water sources would have been useful. The elevation profile is scaled for each day and would be more useful if this retained a common scale (horizontal and vertical) across all the days. 3. The quality of the Rifugios varied greatly. We didn’t mind the older Rifugio accommodation. However, quality of service at Rifugio Passo Staulanza was very disappointing. We were accommodated in a small bunk room with 16 others. There was very little ventilation for the number of people and the humid and hot temperatures were oppressive. The number of toilets and showers were inadequate for the numbers staying. The Rifugio management was clear that there was not potable water but pro-actively sold bottled water that was witnessed to be sourced from their own taps. Water use was discouraged yet they advertised spas. Also, I ended up having a discussion with management regarding the cost of a boxed lunch that was not pleasant. In general, we would prefer to know we were paying for fixed costs (accommodation and meals) and it was a surprise to be charged for water for dinner or tokens for showers at some places. All the extra hidden costs mount up.

We wouldn’t have made it through our trek without BookATrekking’s navigation function on their App. 100% worth every penny and it was a relief knowing the didn’t have to worry about our sleeping arrangements since they booked such reputable places. 100% would recommend and use again!

I made half of AV2 and everything went very well overall. The insights and the Bookatrekking platform work very well. There are always some things to improve. For exemple at the last day of trekking we have to go to the hotel by bus, but there were no buses. They only start to operate In summer two days later at 28/6. We had to talk to someone that call a táxi for us. Also In the huts you said that dinner is included but then I have to pay for water at the meal. I understand that beers or wine arent included, but water!!

I recently completed the Everest Base Camp trek, and it was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. The journey was made even better thanks to our amazing guide tika Rai and his brother Sherpa. From the very beginning, our guide was super friendly, knowledgeable, and always made sure we were comfortable. He explained everything—from the history of the region to the best techniques for acclimatization. His passion for the mountains was truly inspiring. Our Sherpa was equally fantastic. He was incredibly strong, always smiling, and made sure our bags arrived safely at each stop. Without him, the trek would have been much more difficult! The trek itself was breathtaking. Every day brought new, stunning landscapes—towering peaks, beautiful valleys, and charming villages. The highlight was, of course, reaching Everest Base Camp, standing at the foot of the world’s highest mountain. It was a surreal and emotional moment. I highly recommend this trek to anyone who loves adventure and nature. And if you have a great guide and Sherpa like we did, the experience becomes truly unforgettable!

I recently completed the 12-day Everest Base Camp trek with Alpine Rambles, and it was an unforgettable experience. Our guides, Purna and Dawa, were exceptional throughout the entire journey. They were not only knowledgeable but also incredibly helpful, always making sure we were comfortable and well-prepared for each stage of the trek. A huge shoutout also goes to the porters – they were brilliant and went to great lengths to carry our gear and luggage, always with a smile. Their hard work and dedication played a huge role in making the trek comfortable and stress-free for us. The trek itself was amazing – the scenery, the challenge, and the sense of accomplishment when reaching Base Camp were truly unforgettable. If you're considering this trek, I highly recommend doing it with Alpine Rambles and especially with Purna, Dawa, and the incredible porters. What a great adventure to do the Anna Purna circuit and hike to the Thorang La Pass at 5416m. Everyday was great with such a beautiful landscapes, mountains and animals. I enjoyed every single minute, although it is a bit tough to hike this high as well, the views and people made every discomfort disappear. My guide Subash was amazing, he took such a good care of me and always made sure I had a good meal and room. He knows much about the mountains and is very professional. We had much fun as well, same with the porter Arjun. The guys are amazing, I will miss their always happy smiles. I would definitely recommend to go with Alpine Ramble treks.

Our trek to the Annapurna Base Camp in early December 2024 was an unforgettable adventure, impeccably organized by Dil Gurung and his team. From the flights between Kathmandu and Pokhara and back to being picked up in Pokhara and meeting our guide and porter, renting sleeping bags and a duffle bag, every detail was handled flawlessly. Our knowledgeable guide, Iman Gurung, and our very strong porter, Laudi Gurung, were incredibly helpful and always there when we needed them. Especially on a day when we weren't feeling our best, they took great care of us. We thank Dil, Iman and Laudi for this amazing experience. If we come back to Nepal for another trip, we would be happy to do it with the same team!

I really had a great experience with Bookatrekking! I went on a solo trek to the Ghorepani Poon hill with Krishna and James. Amazing and helpful People. The trek itself had beautiful views.

We were a group of three, and we were put together with another two guys (they took age into account for a good matchup in both condition and sociability). This was our highest hike to date. The views and scenery were amazing. But what made the whole experience for us were our guide Purna, assistant guide Sajla, and porters Lauri, Min, and Home. Who didn't spare any effort in giving us the best experience possible, immersing us in local culture and ready to answer any questions along the trek.

 We used Bookatrekking..com.for our recent trek on the haute route from Chamonix to Zermatt. The company was very receptive to modifications in the agenda. They recommended several alterations in our route through alpine huts that were much better than on the “traditional route”. They kept us well informed even while we were hiking updating us on recent trail closures. The price was definitely a bargain and worth it for them to book our itinerary. I would definitely use them again, and in fact just booked the Alta route in the Dolomites for next year.

The scenery on the TMB was magnificent. Bookatrekking did a great job with securing reservations for the refuges. However, Bookatrekking could show a bit more flexibility in tailoring the reservations. I asked to have a rest day built into the itinerary but this was refused. I asked to have Days 5 and 6 changed so that Day 6 wouldn't be such a long day. This was refused.

I had to cancel a trek booking due to unexpected expenses. I have let the company know within 24 hours and I got back a full refund. Note that it was even after the booking was confirmed! Great customer services, answers quickly and with a thought :) Thanks guys.

Even in Corona times I got top service. Planning for a tour in the Dolomites I contacted bookatrekking very early the year and got advice and support from day one. Bookatrekking notified my when booking made sense and did accomodate for my special request (to leave out one overnight stay) with no problem. Unfortunately my son hurt his knee a few days ago and we had to cancel the planned trip and chose to make a replacement booking for a trip with my wife. And again, I did not only get very nice support on the phone; I also got the new trip booked. We will definitely come back to bookatrekking next year again for the trip with my son. Thank you
